May morning on 1 May is a special time in Oxford. The undergrads stay out all night and the rest of us wake up at a time you’d only ever normally get up at to go on a flight somewhere, to get to Magdalen Bridge for 6am to hear the choir.

The bells ring and we descend onto High Street and Broad Street for live music (I really enjoy Horns of Plenty and Sol Samba) and dancing. You can grab 6am coffees, and pints of beer (until 11am) and full English breakfasts. Here are some of the sights I saw this year.
